Wei is a New York-based artist specializing in Gongbi, a traditional Chinese realistic painting method, with a focus on silk fans. She is renowned for her ensemble narratives, which are influenced by manga, collectivism, and interactive storytelling.

In 2016, Wei studied Gongbi painting at the Forbidden City, focusing on traditional themes of flowers and birds. Her work reflects the Gongbi philosophy of capturing both form and spirit, seamlessly blending technical mastery with a deep understanding of cultural heritage and the principles of nature.

Through her art, Wei explores the underlying rules of the universe, weaving them into intricate and harmonious compositions. Influenced by comics, animation, pop culture, and consumerism, her work takes on a playful and ironic tone, offering a fresh, contemporary perspective while remaining rooted in tradition.
